EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: Dessie Dixon

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT OF EL-BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH

 

 

Dessie H. Dixon is a native of Birmingham, Alabama.   She is married to Rev. James Dixon, Jr., the Pastor of El-Bethel Baptist Church located in Fort Washington, MD.  She is the mother of four children, grandmother of eleven and two great grandchildren.

 

She presently serves as a member of the leadership team for the minister’s wives at the Baptist Convention of Maryland /Delaware and leader of the Ministers Wives’ Network for the Prince George’s Baptist Association.  She planned and organized the Annual Minister’s Wives Fellowship for seven years at Ridgecrest for Black Church Week and recently served a one year term as interim missionary for minister wives and family ministry also for BCMD.

 

Mrs. Dixon served with her husband on the field as a Home Missionary for the Southern Baptist Convention for a period of eight years. She is a conference leader and former writer of WMU and has written articles for Dimension, The Magazette for minister’s wives, and Missions Mosaic magazines.  She has also written a chapter on the African American Culture in a book entitled “Many Nations Under God.”

 

In her home church at El-Bethel she serves in the following capacities:

• Administrative Assistant to the Pastor

• Praise Team & Choir Member

Her greatest joy comes from serving the Lord and doing kingdom work in partnership with her husband. Her most precious possession is her relationship with Jesus Christ.
